What Homeward is
Homeward: Bible Reflection is a Bible-reflection app for Catholics, for iPhone and Android (bundle and package identifier com.homewardbible.app). It offers Scripture reading from a library held in our own database, an AI companion that reflects with you and answers questions about the faith from the Church's own sources with citations, the Examen and daily prayer, a church-year calendar, and a candle chapel for quiet prayer. It is planned to publish on the App Store and Google Play on Ash Wednesday, February 10, 2027.
How Homeward uses Scripture
Verse text is shown only from translations stored in our own database, never generated. Today those are public-domain texts — World English Bible (Catholic), Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition and Biblia Sacra Vulgatæ Editionis (Clementine Vulgate) — and their attribution lines are on the Licenses page. Further editions will be added only under licence from their rights holders and credited exactly as those holders require. Every citation the companion offers is checked against the text before it appears.
Who operates Homeward
Homeward is built and operated by Ilia Libelman, a self-employed individual in Israel. Homeward is not operated by a company; an Israeli limited company is planned. Because the Apple Developer Program account is enrolled as an individual, the App Store seller name will read “Ilia Libelman”. Homeward is registered in the Digital Bible Library as “Homeward bible”.
Contact
The only contact address is support@homewardbible.com — a person reads every message. Homeward publishes no postal address and no telephone number.

What Homeward is not
Reflect is an AI companion, not a person, not clergy, and not a sacrament. It never speaks as God or Jesus, never grants absolution or assigns penance, and never diagnoses any condition. Homeward is not therapy, pastoral counseling, spiritual direction, confession, or a crisis service. Homeward is an independent project and carries no ecclesiastical approval. Homeward is for people 13 and older.
How Reflect handles crisis
Every message is checked for safety before any reply is shown: a fast safety check runs on every message before the main model, and no words of a reply appear until its own safety verdict reads clear. When a message suggests danger to the person or to others, the reply is replaced by a card of crisis resources for the device's region — in the United States, call or text 988; in Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and Israel, that country's line; elsewhere, findahelpline.com — with the reminder to contact local emergency services and a way to leave the conversation. A safety turn is never counted against the free allowance. No analytics event, screen or crash record marks a safety turn; the only record is the server's daily count of how many times crisis resources were shown — a total with no key and no words, as the Privacy Policy says. The companion never diagnoses and never grants absolution; for serious matters it points to a pastor or counselor, to a priest or catechist for questions of the faith, or to a crisis line.
