Accessibility
This website is meant to be readable and usable by everyone.
The standard
homewardbible.com aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. This statement covers the website only; the Homeward app carries its own accessibility work and is described in the app stores when it publishes.
What the site does
- One heading per page marks its subject, headings run in order, and every page has a skip link, landmarks and a declared language.
- Text keeps at least a 4.5:1 contrast against its background, including over photographs, where a darkening layer sits between the picture and the type.
- Every image carries a text alternative; decorative pictures are marked so screen readers pass over them.
- Everything works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus ring, and every control is at least 24 by 24 pixels.
- Nothing moves, flashes or counts down. The door crossfade and the gentle reveals run only when the browser does not ask for reduced motion.
- Text is real text, never part of an image, and the page reflows from a 320-pixel-wide screen to a desktop without sideways scrolling.
- The QR code on the download section is accompanied by the same link as text.
- No cookies, no scripts from other companies, and no forms: nothing to consent to and nothing that times out.
How it was tested
Each page was checked with automated tools (Lighthouse and axe against WCAG 2.2 AA rules, and the W3C markup checker), with a keyboard-only pass, with the operating system's reduced-motion setting on, and at 375, 768 and 1280 pixel widths. Last reviewed: September 2026.
Known limits
- The atmospheric photographs are illustrations of the app's rooms, not information; their text alternatives describe the scene briefly.
- The legal texts are long by nature; each has a table of contents at the top.
